Our Story

Hello and welcome! We’re Mike and Hazel—proud owners of a bespoke picture framing and personalised gift business here in the heart of the Scottish Highlands. Working alongside us are our three lively dogs, Ember, Skye and Sprocket, who keep us on our toes and often feature in our day-to-day adventures.

Our story began back in Heywood, on the edge of the Pennines, where we both grew up and lived until 2023. After some stressful years, we decided it was time for a complete lifestyle change. So, we packed up and moved to Tighnabruaich on the scenic west coast of Scotland—a place we’d loved visiting for holidays and had always dreamed of calling home.

Between 2001 and 2010, we worked as professional framers, creating custom pieces for a wide variety of clients—including some famous sportsmen. When we relaunched our creative businesses in 2023 (including embroidery, printed clothing, and laser cutting), we quickly discovered that our framing expertise was very much needed in the local area. That’s when we knew it was time to bring our passion for framing back to life.

Today, we offer a full range of bespoke framing services, from family photos and artwork to 3D objects like sports shirts and medals. With the latest professional equipment—including a computerised mount cutter—we’re able to produce precise, intricate designs that help preserve and showcase your memories.

At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to quality, creativity, and friendly, personal service. We love getting to know our customers, sharing ideas, and helping you create something truly special for your home, your loved ones, or as a memorable gift.

On a personal note, our beloved choccy Springador Rollo was part of this journey, but we sadly lost him to cancer last year. Ember, our gentle companion, is now joined by Sprocket—the ever-bouncy Springador—and our most recent addition, Skye, a cheeky and lovable three legged spaniel, but wait...... Skye is no longer our latest addition to the Secret Coast Framing family, welcome Zippy (and yes he is named from the 70s children's TV character from Rainbow).
